WHAT IS PRAYER COUNSELING?
When our heart is wounded, we can rationalize our experiences or slap a scripture on it, but our wounds continue to fester at a heart level and this seeps out into our daily lives. In prayer counseling, we partner with the Lord to walk us through our pain and invite Him to uproot those things that hinder wholeness so we can experience the finished work of the cross and His resurrection life in our everyday lives.
WHAT IS A HEART INTENSIVE?
Set aside intentional time to pursue wholeness and transformation through this unique experience—available as an 8-week online course or a 2-night in-person intensive at select locations. This journey weaves together inner healing prayer and biblical teaching on topics such as generational curses, unhealthy soul ties, identity lies, negative expectations and decisions, word curses, trauma, and deliverance. Integrated with process art, these teachings create space for deep heart work and personal revelation. You’ll leave with both a healing prayer model to incorporate into your spiritual life and a visual record of the healing work God has done in your heart.
CREATIVE MINISTRY EVENTS
Alyssa is passionate about speaking, teaching, and leading creative ministry experiences that move truth from the head to the heart. By blending Biblical teaching with creativity, she invites participants into encounters with God through reflection, listening prayer and art. These experiences can be tailored to fit your audience and ministry goals. Where applicable, art supplies, course materials, and guided art tutorials are provided. No artistic experience is needed—just a willing heart!

ABOUT US
My name is Alyssa Flaten. I am a wife, mother, pastor, author, educator, prayer counselor, artist, and—above all—a follower of Jesus. He has healed my heart, transformed my life, and ignited in me a passion to help others encounter His healing, transforming beauty through inner healing, teaching, and discipleship.
I love to learn and grow. I hold an AA in Nutrition from Covenant Life Bible College and a BS in Art Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. I am a graduate and instructor with Elijah House School of Heart Healing, as well as a graduate of Sunodia School of Ministry, where I completed an internship in prayer counseling. I am a credentialed pastor and evangelist with the Assemblies of God and serve as a prayer counselor and teacher at Jesus School in Ames, Iowa.
I belong to Scott, my husband and ministry partner. Together, we founded Intentional Worship Ministries—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to cultivating wholehearted worship and devotion to Jesus. Scott serves as a worship pastor at Lifepointe Church in Ames, Iowa. Lifepointe is more than a weekend gathering for us—it’s our spiritual family, and there’s always room at the table--we'd love to have you there.
